How to Check in on Facebook on Mobile Application?

Here’s how to check in on Facebook using the mobile application (iOS and Android) – 

  • Open the Facebook application and sign in to your account.
  • Click the Check-In (red pin) option under What’s On Your Mind?
  • Enable Facebook to access your current location by clicking on Allow.
  • Enter the location manually or select any from the drop-down menu.
  • You can also tag your friends and add photos, videos. Also, you can skip the step if you do not wish to do any of these.
  • Tap Post on the right corner of the page.
  • Your Check post is live on Facebook.

Note: You can also check in on Facebook using your mobile browser by following the above mentioned steps.

Here’s how you can do it for iOS –

  • Open Settings>Privacy on your iOS device.
  • Tap on the Location Service to toggle it on.
  • Select the Facebook Menu at the upper right side of the screen and tap on See More>Nearby Friends.
  • Select the friends with whom you want to share the location, and then complete the setting by allowing the prompt.
  • You can also turn on the push notifications to know where your friends are. To do this, go to Facebook Menu>Settings and Privacy.
  • Tap on the Notification Settings – here. You can adjust how you receive notifications.

How to Find Check in Maps on Facebook?

The check-in map is an alternative replaced by the previous interactive Where I Have Been map application for Facebook. The check in on Facebook depends on if you have enabled the Check-ins. You can check this on your About Page. If you do not see the check in option, you can enable it from the Manage Section. Here’s how you can do it –

  • Go to Your Profile.
  • Select Manage under your profile photo.
  • Select Check-ins from the list. If it’s not there, enable it from Manage Sections.

How to Delete a Check in on Facebook?

Check-ins on Facebook can be a huge problem at times as it has the potential to harm your privacy. Check-in is a default feature that appears wherever you go. So, to maintain your privacy, you can always undo or delete a check-in on Facebook. Here’s how you can do it –

  • Open the application on your device.
  • Go to the home screen.
  • Tap on the Menu Option in the top right corner of your screen.
  • Go to Profile.
  • Select the check-in you want to delete.
  • You will find three vertical dots on the left side of the post. Tap on it.
  • Once you click, you will see several options including, Move to Trash.
  • Click on the option, and you will find a pop-up asking to move the post to the trash. Click on Move.
