Where did the bird go? It was the first question you might have asked yourself as you logged on to Twitter. The twitter logo change have created several question among its users. Instead of the bluebird, you might have seen the Doge character – a symbol for Dogecoin – a meme-based cryptocurrency highly supported by Elon Musk – the new acquirer of Twitter.
The CEO of Twitter has managed to make headlines often for launching new policies and making changes to the microblogging site. With the recent changes to Twitter, he changed the logo of the blue bird to the Doge character. Many think the replacement of the logo was an internet prank by Elon, as a part of April Fool’s Day, but a little bit late.
The change was only seen on the web version of Twitter, where the blue bird on Twitter served as a home button web. Musk shared a hilarious post with the doge meme in the car and told the officers that his photo had been changed.
Elon is quite among the talks because of his recent changes made to Twitter. However, the recent Twitter logo change has created a hype among the users.
The Shiba Inu dog was made the face of the doge cryptocurrency as fun in 2013 and to mock other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. He also shared a post where he says this was because of the idea given to him some time back by an anonymous account, where the person asked to change the bird logo to Shiba Inu dog. He shared a post on Twitter captioned – “As Promised.”
Is Twitter Logo Change a Dogecoin Upgradation Strategy?
However, some speculate that Musk is a huge fan of Dogecoin and has promoted it widely. This was just a stunt to increase the doge value, which was seen after the logo change. The value of the dogecoin increased by 20%. His love for doge was also seen in a post he shared of the Dogecoin blockchain and cryptocurrency logo, posing as the CEO with a caption: “The new CEO of Twitter is amazing.”
Also, the #TwitterLogo was among the top trending hashtags, with millions of users reacting to the logo change. Some even believe Musk has changed the logo to honor his pet Shiba Inu, Floki. A post was shared from Floki’s account saying –
“Looks like #Floki wanted to have some fun.”
Just after the logo was changed, Twitter was flooded with memes and posts, with the increase in the Dogecoin valuation. Also, this is not the first time Musk has pulled a stunt to elevate Dogecoin’s value. Moreover, investors have accused Musk of driving up the crypto’s price by more than 36,000% over the past two years and letting it crash.
So, was it an April Fool’s Day prank or a strategy to increase the dogecoin’s market valuation?
