  • Open your Facebook profile.
  • Tap on the hamburger icon on the top right corner of the profile.
  • Tap on Settings & Privacy>Settings.
  • Tap on Personal and Account Information.
  • Tap on Account Ownership and Control.
  • Tap on Deactivation and Deletion.
  • Select Deactivate Account and tap Continue to Account.
  • After you tap Continue, you will be given a few alternatives to deactivating your Facebook account.
  • As the dropdown option shows, you can also choose to reactivate your Facebook account after a few days automatically.
  • You can choose any day between 1-7.
  • Scroll down and Continue.
  • Tap Deactivate My Account.
  • You will be redirected to the login page, where you will see a confirmation message for your account deactivation. Deactivating an account is different from permanently deleting an account. To delete an account, you must search for the option in the site’s help center by typing in “delete account.” Once deleted, Facebook will wait 14 days before permanently removing your profile.
